UPRFC
Welcome to the University of Portsmouth Men's Rugby Club! We are one of the biggest sports clubs in Team UoP and, on the south coast, one of the largest rugby clubs with 160 members. Our club is a second home for all members - UPRFC has a "one club, one family" mentality and it is something much more than just playing rugby.
We recruit players at all rugby standards, whether you want to join for the social aspect, or you thrive for competition so heading into next season, we will have 3 BUCS teams competing on Wednesdays, alongside the 4s and Barbarians inter-warrior, non-BUCS league who play against other universities every 2 months. There are also cup matches to compete in throughout the year for our teams.
What is BUCS? - British Universities and Colleges Sport is the UK's national governing body for higher education sport.
Our competing teams:
1st XV - South Eastern Tier 2
2nd XV - South Eastern 3B
3rd XV - South Eastern 3B
More information about our 4th XV and Barbarians will be added soon...
As a club, we love our socials - especially on Wednesdays! Mixing with other sports clubs and societies, you will see us in our 'Ones' (blue shirts and chinos) or incredible fancy dress. Within the club, we also have a Christmas and End of Season Dinner which is great fun!
So, whether it's competition, fitness, or widening your social circle, fill out the interest form on the ''Sign Up' page. Don't hesitate to contact us on our social media platforms @uprfc or email at mensrugby@port.ac.uk!
We train at HMS Temeraire on Monday and Friday evenings.
HMS Temeraire is within easy walking distance of all student accommodation blocks. Parking is also available on Burnaby Road and bicycles can be safely stored next to the pitch.
Free parking can be found in the surrounding local areas but please be aware of residents and park respectfully.
All our home games are played at Langstone Sports Campus.
Langstone Sports Campus is a 10-minute drive and a 20-minute bus journey via the U2 from the Students Union bus stop.
Students with parking permits may park free of charge. For all other customers there is a £2 parking charge which you can pay via the pay-and-display machines operated by Portsmouth City Council on behalf of the University.
